You offer up an inspiring invitation Dee. We all need to challenge the assumptions in our heads because more often than not we have no proof of their validity. I've found that we need to trick our conscious mind into relaxing so the internal wisdom can surface. When it lets its guard down that's when we need to act boldly.

I was just talking with my coworker about this today at lunch . Don't know how in the world we got on the topic really, they brought it up. I do recall eating a amazing steak salad with cranberries on it. I digress...

Thanks for this fun idea for planning and organizing my thoughts. It will come in handy as I look at launching a new area of my business and should help me see more clearly how it integrates with the other established areas.

Great idea! I have never done this, always chosen the route of making lists or "business plan" for my life's goals, but I think my right-sided brain would do better with this type of approach. I will give it a shot! Thanks for the idea, and Happy New Year!!

Dee- I really appreciate your advice and wisdom here. Another consideration: finding joy in the work that you are currently in. I went through a bit of a career angst a couple years ago. A good friend and spiritual mentor suggested that before I go looking for that next job (and the next and the next...), to start keeping track of all the things that bring me joy in my current position. I started keeping track, and guess what? I realized that there were many things I was doing that, if I paid attention, actually brought me joy. That, in turn, brings others joy. It completely shifted my focus away from what i could "get" out of my career, to what I could give. It's made a big difference.

Thanks for a great post. I will be back for the next segment!

Thanks for the reminder that doing the work that I love is the right path for me. I couldn't drag myself out of bed every morning to go to a job that I hated and it makes me sad that so many people do. Yes, employer paid health insurance and paid vacations are nice benefits, but I wouldn't trade that for the freedom and satisfaction I get from "doing my own thing".
Sandy, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your experience. You bring up a good point that regardless of what we are engaged in: work/home/play, we are more fulfilled when expressing our talents.
